SALVATION BY FAITH OR SALVATION BY DIVINE REVELATION?

As we are now approaching the OMEGA POINT for the Church age, and we know from Matthew Chapter Seven that Jesus Christ turns away THE MANY Christians with a very terse remark that He never came to know them. That remark tells everyone who these people really are, and it has NOTHING to do with denominational beliefs, their spiritual gifts, their theology, position in their churches or anything of that nature. It has to do with only one thing:

JESUS CHRIST CLAIMS HE NEVER CAME TO KNOW THEM IN AN “EXPERIENTIAL MANNER”, THAT IS HE NEVER MET THEM ONE ON ONE OR HAD ANY DIRECT COMMUNICATIONS WITH THEM.

Now to PROVE IT:

Matthew 7:21-23

²¹ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

²³ And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

 

First if all, what is the WILL OF THE FATHER?

John 6:38-40

³⁸ For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

³⁹ And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

⁴⁰ And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

 

Let’s take  a look at the word “SEETH” for it ties directly back to Matthew Seven:

From a derivative of G2300 (perhaps by adverb of G3708); to be a spectator of, that is, discern, (literally, figuratively [experience] or intensively [acknowledge]): – behold, consider, look on, perceive, see. Compare G3700.

It is the WILL OF THE FATHER that the BELIEVER is to LOOK UPON CHRIST, to be a spectator of His GLORY, of His  DIVINE LOVE, the SPIRIT of Jesus.

Keep that in mind as we travel though this. Back now to Matthew 7 and the rejection of the MANY CHRISTIANS:

In verse 22 we find the word “MANY”.

In our lingo we would call it THE VAST MAJORITY of Christians. Now this ties directly to the comments of Jesus Christ concerning the BROAD WAY that leads to eternal ruin.

Matthew 7:13-14

¹³ Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

¹⁴ Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

THE WORD BROAD:

From εὐρύς eurus (wide) and G5561; spacious: – broad.

Feminine of a derivative of the base of G5490 through the idea of empty expanse; room, that is, a space of territory (more or less extensive; often including its inhabitants): – coast, county, fields, grounds, land, region. Compare G5117.

This, when contrasted to NARROW implies this is an EASY, FLAT SPACIOUS way, that is, it is opposed to narrow or strait, both of which imply GREAT DIFFICULTY, and because it is difficult, Jesus says the vast majority of “Christians” will accept the EASY WAY. Let’s contrast this:

vs.

STRAIT, NARROW, HARSH, ASK ,SEEK KNOCK, STRIVE, CONTINUE

 

I want to focus on verse 23 for it the most important and the ANSWER that Christ gives to these multitudes (millions of Christians) who are sent away from His presence:

Let’s take a look at the words NEVER, KNEW and YOU.

From G3761 and G4218; not even at any time, that is, never at all: – neither at any time, never, nothing at any time.

From G3756 and G1161; not however, that is, neither, nor, not even: – neither (indeed), never, no (more, nor, not), nor (yet), (also, even, then) not (even, so much as), + nothing, so much as.

 

Jesus is telling us that during the entire life of the believer He, Jesus, never, not in any way ever, at NO TIME, did He come to EXPERIENTIALLY KNOW (meet with) THAT BELIEVER.

KNEW:

Γινώσκω – ginōskō – ghin-oce’-ko

A prolonged form of a primary verb; to “know” (absolutely), in a great variety of applications and with many implications (as shown at left, with others not thus clearly expressed): – allow, be aware (of), feel, (have) known (-ledge), perceive, be resolved, can speak, be sure, understand.

Greek Expert Kenneth Wuest translate it as:

“And then I will declare in a public announcement to them,

I NEVER CAME TO KNOW YOU EXPERIENTALLY,

be going away from me, you who are working the lawlessness”.

That translation is the most accurate when compared to a number of other verses that directly state there is to be an encounter and face to face meeting with Christ and that encounter is where TRUE SALVATION OCCURS. Remember the WILL OF THE FATHER that we “see” the Son.

Now of course we all know the above is totally denied by all modern Christian theologians and all Churches. But it does not change what Jesus said, does it? So the only alternative the FAKE “ANGELS OF LIGHT” have is to DENY what Jesus said and bring in another look alike gospel that people will follow to their ruin, just as Peter said would happen!

Jesus Christ, through Peter, warns of these WOLVES in sheep’s clothing who will infiltrate and destroy the STRAIT GATE AND NARROW WAY of the Lord and thus destroy and turn millions into eternal ruin. That is, Satan lies and then murders them!

So how does a person KNOW ABSOLUTELY THEY ARE SAVED OR NOT? Jesus informs us in a dire warning that FAITH or BELIEF are only the dynamic forces that propel the believer through the STRAIT GATE and down the NARROW WAY. These are FORCES granted by the Lord, it is not of ourselves!!

John 1:11-12

¹¹ He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

¹² But as many as received him, to them gave the power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Let’s look at the words POWER, and BECOME:

ἐξουσία – exousia – ex-oo-see’-ah

From G1832 (in the sense of ability); privilege, that is, (subjectively) force, capacity, competency, freedom, or (objectively) mastery (concretely magistrate, superhuman, potentate, token of control), delegated influence: – authority, jurisdiction, liberty, power, right, strength.

It is Jesus Christ Himself that gives the power to the believer to ASK, SEEK, KNOCK, STRIVE, LABOR, CONTINUE to find the truth!! This is why it is not a WORK or some type of legalism. It is Jesus Himself that puts (via the Holy Spirit), the POWER TO BE OBEDIENT, TO SEARCH OUT THE MATTER. It is not of ourselves whatsoever. If we neglect that power, that authority, then it is on us, not of the Lord.

Now the word BECOME:

A prolonged and middle form of a primary verb; to cause to be (“gen” -erate), that is, (reflexively) to become (come into being), used with great latitude (literally, figuratively, intensively, etc.): – arise be assembled, be (come, -fall, -have self), be brought (to pass), (be) come (to pass), continue, be divided, be done, draw, be ended, fall, be finished, follow, be found, be fulfilled, + God forbid, grow, happen, have, be kept, be made, be married, be ordained to be, partake, pass, be performed, be published, require, seem, be showed, X soon as it was, sound, be taken, be turned, use, wax, will, would, be wrought.

Salvation is something that TAKES TIME, as we seek, ask, knock, strive, labor, continue until we find the TRUTH, who is JESUS CHRIST, who is THE SPIRIT OF GOD, THE SPIRIT OF DIVINE AGAPE LOVE. Jesus gave us that privilege, but most reject it!!

Now I hope one understands the WARNINGS OF JESUS CHRIST to COMPLY with His commands to ENTER IN AT THE STRAIT GATE. Obviously the MANY did not comply, did not heed His warnings, and REFUSED to PICK UP THEIR OWN CROSS and ENTER IN.

In other words, salvation is totally contingent upon OBEDIENCE to the commands to enter in and walk the walk of the narrow way, which is picking up your cross!! Jesus said so in many places! If one refuses, they will not be saved, and Jesus will be forced to say to them in a public announcement that HE DOES NOT EXPERIENTIALLY KNOW THEM, which means that they NEVER walked the NARROW WAY TO LIFE, and LIFE IS FOUND IN JESUS CHRIST!!!

Now let’s see if we can confirm all of the above:

John 17:1-3

17 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

² As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

³ And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Remember that Jesus said He did not KNOW the many rejected Christians. Now He tells us what ETERNAL life really is. That we MIGHT continue on and KNOW who God the Father and Jesus Christ really are!! That can only happen by DIVINE REVELATION.

Let’s look at the words MIGHT KNOW:

A prolonged form of a primary verb; to “know” (absolutely), in a great variety of applications and with many implications (as shown at left, with others not thus clearly expressed): – allow, be aware (of), feel, (have) known (-ledge), perceive, be resolved, can speak, be sure, understand.

This is the very same word used in Matthew Seven. It is conditional in that the prayer is very specific, that His followers, who believe in HIS NAME, MIGHT CONTINUE ON TO EXPERIENTIALLY KNOW HIM, that is MEET HIM in an actual encounter.

Of course, this is all rejected by the Church of today, for they are a worldly Church and most if not all of their time is IN THIS WORLD, and the CARES OF THIS WORLD. Most Christians are SNARED BY THIS WORLD and are TRAPPED HERE, and obviously do not KNOW IT.

What do YOU think about most of the time? Where is your CONCERN? Do you fret and worry over worldly things? Examine yourselves to see if you be in the faith!

The vast, the very vast amount of Christians are in and of THIS WORLD, and cannot leave it for one reason or another. The question is this: It is not if you think you KNOW Jesus Christ, it is rather this; does Jesus Christ KNOW YOU?
