UPDATED: Contrary to early returns, the game ends up topping the 2012 outing by 200,000 viewers to become the biggest show ever to air on U.S. TV.
Advertisers, who shelled out a record $4 million for a 30-second commercial, got the best bang for their buck in those minutes leading up to the halftime show — when the Seahawks already held a commanding 22-0 lead. That’s particularly good news for Volkswagen, Wonderful Pistachios, H&M, Subway, Toyota, Sonos, Coca-Cola, CarMax and M&Ms — all of which paid for ad time toward the end of the second quarter. The block also included trailers for Paramount Pictures’ Transformers: Age of Extinction and Columbia Pictures’ The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
As for the halftime show, Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers also set a new high, with 115.3 million viewers tuning in during the performance, besting Beyonce (110.8 million in 2013) and previous champ Madonna (114.0 million in 2012).

“The London Olympics was a wonderful 17 days for NBC Universal, exceeding all our expectations in viewership, digital consumption and revenue,” NBC Universal CEO Steve Burke said in a statement. “Every part of our company contributed to our success … We are proud to have been part of the last two weeks, and we couldn’t have asked for a better start to our long run of Olympic Games through 2020.”
35 A sword is upon the Chaldeans, saith the Lord, and upon the inhabitants of Babylon, and upon her princes, and upon her wise men.
36 A sword is upon the liars; and they shall dote: a sword is upon her mighty men; and they shall be dismayed.
37 A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.
38 A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.
What if, when you see how many billions are made off all of the sports in America, the number of viewers of the games played, God considers that an Idol? And what if you compare that with what we pay our teachers, who shape our young, and by that method shape our future, God considers that a rank sin, and what if, when you see that 55 million babies (reported), in the 40 years since Roe vs. Wade that God considers that sacrificing your young to Baal and cold blooded murder, and what if, when you see how our military has been unsuccessful in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere that God is saying you are under judgment, and what if, when you see our economy tanking all over the United States that God considers that a curse from Deuteronomy 28, and what if, when you are seeing our farmers all over America being shafted by the likes of Monsanto that God also considers that a curse in the fields, and what if our total mistreatment of our veterans who are maimed for life a sign of hearts grown cold, and what if the rich men of the Earth who are behind all of the wars, the depressions, the recessions are the instrument God is using to bring America-Babylon to its knees, and what if God has decided that America-Babylon must be and will be utterly destroyed as He said he would in Deuteronomy 28 – then what?
